When I was a child and my family lived on the homestead, we would pass this old stone home which was built in 1882, called the Ed Griffin home. Bear Creek is nearby and located about 20 miles east of Chugwater and 40 miles north of Cheyenne. My son Walt was fascinated by this piece of history and marveled that the stone is still in prime condition. Thanks, Walt, Nancy and Treyson for a memorable excursion.

These dishes came from boxes of Quaker Oatmeal which was popular during the 1930's and collected by Marie Van Zee Cheeney, my mother. Thoma Lee and I "sorted and put" heirlooms and keepsakes - she took some doilies and handkerchiefs to fashion into a quilt If you are a Gregg or Cheeney descendant, be assured more "stuff" is headed in your direction
